ABOUT THE SHOW

Real talk. Real experience.

Better businesses.

Founder Fridays is a live conversation for founders and senior leaders who are building, scaling, or thinking seriously about what comes next.

The conversations that matter most rarely happen in a webinar. They happen when someone asks the question everyone has been thinking about. When growth creates a problem no one expected. When the numbers tell a different story than the strategy.

When you're trying to decide whether to hire, raise prices, fire a client, change your role, pursue an exit, or simply build a better business.

That's where Founder Fridays comes in.

Every other Friday on LinkedIn Live, we bring two sides of the founder equation to the same conversation: growth and business development alongside finance, operations, and the realities behind the numbers.

The result is an unscripted discussion about the decisions, challenges, opportunities, and uncomfortable truths that come with running a professional services firm.

Episode 5: Laying the foundation for a successful 2027

Welcome back to Founder Fridays! In this episode, Andrea and Joe discuss why the fourth quarter is about more than simply finishing the year strong. It’s about laying the foundation for a successful 2027. They explore how founders can use strategic planning to establish clear goals, align their financial strategy with the direction of the business, and avoid simply carrying last year’s budget forward. The conversation highlights the importance of looking beyond revenue targets to consider profit margins, company culture, talent, new capabilities, client diversification, and other investments that shape the future of the business. Andrea and Joe also discuss the value of involving teams in the planning process, using data and a focused set of metrics to make informed decisions, and building a realistic forecast and pipeline for the year ahead. Ultimately, they emphasize that greater visibility into what’s coming allows founders to make smarter decisions, manage resources effectively, and approach the future with greater confidence.

Welcome back to Founder Fridays! In this season kickoff episode, Joe Hamrahi and Andrea Johnston discuss how to master the art of pivoting in business, career, and life. They explore overcoming the anxiety of leaving corporate roles to pursue entrepreneurship and explain why changing direction is a sign of leadership strength rather than failure. The conversation highlights shifting focus away from rigid, productized packages toward client-centric problem solving, while prioritizing real impact over chasing industry awards. Joe and Andrea also reframe work-life balance into work-life integration and explain why trial-and-error missteps should be viewed as necessary investments in your personal growth.

And what needs to change before the end of the year? Andrea and Joe break down how founders can use their first-half results to make smarter decisions about the second half of the year—and begin planning for what's next.
